** Vacation Day #3 **

Guess what I did on my second day of vacation? I cleaned out the refrigerator! It was absolutely necessary in order to make room for all the Thanksgiving fixins I bought tonight. We decided to make an 8:30 PM WalMart run to try and avoid all the crowds and I must say, it was a good decision! We parked right up front and strolled up and down the grocery aisles like we owned the place! As my boss would say, "It was SPLENDID!"

Alfred pulled off another hair brained scheme today and I'm not sure how much more of this I can take! His company gave him a huge, circular, steel, thingamajigger, heck, I don't know what you would call the thing! Anyway, after some 'Alfred Burt modifications', it was transformed into the piece that feeds up into the smoke stack for his fireplace in the cabin. You should have seen THAT operation? Ropes, comealongs, wood supports, and me sitting there with my mouth hanging open thinking, I AIN'T EVEN BELIEVIN' THIS!! He threw a rope over one of the rafters, tied the other end to this humongus THING and as he and Jamie tried to physically hoist it up, Leah and I were supposed to "PULL the slack out of the rope and DON'T LET IT FALL!" Oh yeah, right!!! Lemme just grab that can of Popeye Spinach first! X-SCUUUUSE ME? ARE YOU CRAZY OR JUST PLAIN STUPID? (Just kiddin'........you know I HAD to say that again!) :) WOOWEE! Am I having fun on my vacation or what!!! I do have to admit, it didn't scare me as badly as the tree yesterday but it was still nerve-racking to watch. At least I DID stay this time, oh and guess what? Everything is in place and no one was maimed in the process! Now if I can just do something about this nervous twitch I've developed...... ;)

You know, I've been thinking about it and it's quite possible, the reason I NEVER take vacation is because of Alfred Burt's projects! Just maybe in the deep recesses of my brain I have a real fear of taking off! Hmmm......? It's a thought! Oh well......I wonder what excitement tomorrow holds in "The Burt Family Builds a Cabin" saga! It's like a Redneck Soap Opera!

Let's not forget to pray for one another! You might mention us too when you talk to the Lord. I think we need an extra helping of protection if we're going to keep working on the cabin! HA! As Chester Burt would say, "God bless you in a special kinda way!"
