You know I have been thinking about my daddy this week and if he'd lived, he would celebrate his 79th birthday this Friday. That is very hard for me to comprehend! I wish he was here with us so we could have a party and get him some goofy gifts! One year for Christmas we got him a "High Hoppin Hoomdorm!" You're probably wondering....what in the heck is that? It was this silly, green and black, long legged creature that you pumped full of air. When you let him go, he hopped all over the place and daddy would just laugh and laugh! He appreciated EVERYTHING! There wasn't anything he loved more than being with his family, laughing and having a good time. He DID love to laugh and I miss him terribly! We all do! Nothing has been the same since he left and it never will be. You just learn to live with it and go on with your life. The sweetest part of it is, it's only goodbye for a while. As Christians, we will see him again! Thank you Father for that reassurance! If you are still blessed and have your parents, listen to me now! You'd better treasure every minute of this precious time because when one or both are gone there is absolutely NOTHING that can fill that spot in your heart! Time heals and life goes on but the void that daddy left in my heart will always remain.
Thanksgiving is right on top of us so why not take the time and let your loved ones know how thankful you are for them. And, don't forget to thank your Heavenly Father for all your many blessings. As the old song says......
When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged thinking all is lost
Count your many blessings name them one by one
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done
Are you ever burdened with a load of care
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear
Count your many blessings every doubt will fly
And you will be singing as the days go by
Count your blessings, name them one by one
Count your blessings see what God hath done
Count your blessings......name them one by one
Count your many blessings see what God hath done
God bless............
