VACATION......For Real....?

Oh my gosh! I'm really on vacation and it feels so strange not having to iron my clothes for work tomorrow! Heck, I may not even get dressed tomorrow!!! I have the most insane idea that people can't manage if I'm not at work! I guess if I believe it then that's all that matters, right? HA! I'm not a workaholic but I AM loyal to the end! I have been with Edward Jones Investments for 13 months now and they have a "use it or lose it" policy concerning vacation time. Now, here it is, the end of the year and I have all 10 days to take! My good friend Lisa will work for me while I'm off so between her and Jack, I know things will be well taken care of. I haven't had a vacation since 2003 so this will be a nice time to do whatever I want. Alfred will be off too and Sunday is our 29th anniversary so we are going to celebrate a bit early by going out on a nice supper date tomorrow night. He tells everybody we may not make it 'til Sunday cause he may divorce me before then! I told him if he leaves me, HE gets the kids! He's reconsidering.......

Speaking of wedding anniversaries, my daily devotion this morning was a timely one. In this day of common law marriage, quickie divorces, jumping from one person to another with no regard for morality or decency, the Bible is clear on the subject of Love. 1 Corinthians speaks of the many characteristics of LOVE and explains it this way:

Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Meditate on these verses for a bit and you'll find that if we demonstrate this type of love to one another, not only will our marriages work out, but our jobs, our relationships and our families will flourish over time. God's word is simple......Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. To love unconditionally is not easy but it IS required! God bless....
